Curtain Call

Back to the daily grind after a few days in New York. A great time, as always. I was up for a meeting with the AICPA. During some free time I was able to catch a performance of Young Frankenstein: The Musical. Sheer brilliance! The show was huge in scale, and hilarious in content! After the show was over I was able to grab an autograph of Schuler Hensley (the Monster) and Andrea Martin (Frau Blucher).

I also saw The Ritz and Wintuk while in town. Both were enjoyable, though not sure I would highly recommend them to anyone. No regrets, though.

..and then the Great White Way went dark. Saturday morning saw the beginning of a stage hand union strike. Ironically, the first show to close due to the strike was How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Each theater sported a closed sign, a row of picketing union members, about five NYPD officers, and a gaggle of blue-haired, raging ticket holders. I think the police were probably present to protect the picketers from the pissed off women who missed their show.
