Two years ago today I had my Valentine’s Day Dinner with Alice Cooper and his wife. I was in Scottsdale, Arizona on business and was referred to a sushi restaurant, Stingray. While sitting and enjoying my meal of assorted tuna and California rolls, sipping on plum wine, in walk the “Coopers.”
I thought the guy looked familiar but couldn’t place him. Maybe it was just one of those faces. They were seated right next to me and it dawned on me, “Dude! You are Alice Cooper!” Luckily the thought stayed in my head, rather than going audible. Once seated, they both looked my direction, exchanged greetings and polite smiles with me then went about their evening. The staff gave them their ‘usual’ and everyone working seemed to know them.
Apparently, Alice lives in the Scottsdale area and regularly plays golf in the area. At least in a sushi house, he is a far cry from his beheaded, blood-soaked nightmare stage character. Really, a plus when dining. He’s polite that way.
