Liquid Cracked Display

I love my Canon SD500 Digital Elph camera. I have had it five months. I have taken hundreds of photos with it. It is small. It is compact. It is packed chock-full of features. It is broken. Sigh. Saturday found me on my way out of the house, arms full of assorted crap. I had the camera in its cozy leather case and had the cord over my fingers. Or so I thought. Somewhere along the way the cord found its freedom. Mere moments later we did a little experiment in Newton’s Second Law of Universal Gravitation…the Earth exerts a force on the object. There was an acceleration of said camera to the Earth. Then Wham! Law Three…the object exerted a force upon the Earth.

Have you ever heard a small LCD screen break? It is a sickening sound. I didn’t see it break. More of a dark revelation that is just known. After many expletives that would make a sailor or Tourettes patient proud, I slid the camera from its then leather coffin and powered it on. Comes on….good news. White screen with black spider webs forming from one corner, outward…bad news. It still takes great photos, even though I cannot see them until they are
downloaded to the PC.

I love my new Canon SD550 Digital Elph camera. I have had it two days.
